Why was the employee of the Ministry of Justice imprisoned?
The guy you see in the photo is Husan Ravshanov, a former employee of the public relations department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the photo next to it is a screenshot of the Facebook page of Sanjar Karimov, who has criticized the Ministry of Justice.
According to the investigation, Ravshanov is the owner of this profile. According to the conclusion of the investigation, Ravshanov, hiding behind a profile, accused the officials of the Ministry of Justice of taking bribes, slandered and discredited the officials.
Yesterday, on December 19, the JIB Tashkent city court’s appellate panel considered this case. The Republic of Uzbekistan found Ravshanov a criminal accused of Article 139 (Defamation) of the Criminal Code and upheld the lower court’s sentence of 1 year and 9 months of imprisonment.
I participated as a defense attorney in one of the most shameful cases in the judicial system. Why shame? Why am I saying things that knock the system down? Won’t Ravshanov’s fate befall me too? Listen!
First of all, the court did not give a firm conclusion that any of the linguistic expertise, lexicological expertise, etc., are the entries in the profile of “Sanjar Karimov” that belong to Ravshanov.
Secondly, does the profile “Sanjar Karimov” really belong to Husan Ravshanov? Then why did the profile work even when Ravshanov was in prison? It is still working. (Check if your friend has it). If at one point there was a user of the profile other than Ravshanov, why didn’t the investigation find it?
Thirdly, is the detention center of the MIA a caravanserai? The head of the anti-corruption department of the Ministry of Justice, who was not a procedural participant in the criminal case, J. Uzokov, the head of the personnel department, Sh. Why is Kochkarov walking in? Is receiving explanations and applications from the accused person? How does the Ministry of Justice, which is responsible for legislation in the country, explain this situation?
I understand that the court is a body that merely legislates the charge of the investigative body. I no longer believe in illusions about justice. Because we asked all the above questions to the employees of Justice, experts, witnesses who were asked as witnesses in the court. In the process, we proved that the case was fake to the extent that it reached the consciousness of the jury.
However, the court upheld the verdict, did not make a legal assessment of the actions of the investigative body and justice officials. We have no hope from the higher court either, if the higher one was better, the lower system would not be like this.
